Barbara believes the role of the leader is to build alignment, to grow the competencies and capabilities of teams and, ultimately, to win the hearts and minds of employees. She believes leaders evolve from a combination of life experiences and habits that either enhance or limit their success. Leaders who work with Barbara learn how to become aware of their habits and when they may be limiting. More importantly, they learn what to do next.

Barbara has an extensive background in leadership development and specializes in helping leaders develop the skills and behaviors they need to be successful in their current role or to prepare for their next role.

WHY LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT?

Leadership Development can help if you are:

  • An individual wanting to refine leadership style or develop specific skills (e.g., influencing others)
  • A leader seeking to build buy-in to your vision
  • An executive leading a team during times of transition and change, such as mergers and acquisitions or industry upheaval
  • A CEO seeking to strengthen effectiveness of the company’s leadership team

Everyone is a genius.
But if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree,
it will live its whole life believing it is stupid.
– Albert Einstein

APPROACH TO LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

Barbara’s leadership development approach is integrative and includes presence-based coaching and developmental learning about how you make sense of the world.  It is designed to close the gap between where the client is and where they want to be with regard to their leadership. Typically, data are gathered through assessments or one-on-one interviews and then the client identifies the goals that will help achieve the outcomes they desire. Barbara’s ideal client knows being a great leader starts with a leadership of self.
